TAKASHINGA Patriots 1 finally got on the board in the HMCA Vigne Cup, snapping a 5-match losing run with a dominant 91-run win over Uhuru Cricket Club at home. After losing the toss and being sent in, Takashinga 1 posted 278/8 in 50 overs their most complete batting display of the season so far. Veteran Hamilton Masakadza led the charge with a blistering 83 off 67 balls at number five, smashing five fours and five sixes. Samuel Muyambo held the top order together with 68 off 113, while Priviledge Chesa injected late momentum with 37 off 18, including four sixes. Chasing 279, Uhuru CC were bowled out for 187 in 35 overs. Tapiwa Mufudza set the tone with 3/42 from 10 overs, and was backed up by tight spells from Tanaka Chivanga 2/11 (4), Trevor Gwandu 2/22 (6), and Kundai Matigimu 2/26 (6) as Takashinga bowlers never let Uhuru settle.
