Chipara removed opener Hassan Shamas for 17 off 25, caught by Kundai Matigimu, trapped Takudzwanashe Kaitano LBW for 2, had Nazim Patel caught behind by Spencer Magodo for a duck, accounted for Mashford Shungu for 6, and wrapped up his five-wicket haul by uprooting tailender Fortune Mhlanga’s stumps. The inroads were opened by seasoned campaigner Tanaka Chivanga, who struck with his very first ball to remove Alex captain Ahsan Aqil Ali for a golden duck, caught by Tafadzwa Mahachi. Chivanga struck again with the last ball of his second over, dismissing Tony Munyonga, caught by the busy Magodo. He finished with 2/22 from five overs.
