TAKASHINGA 2 underlined the importance of sustained bowling pressure as they dismantled Scorpions Cricket Club before cruising to an eight-wicket win in a one-sided National Premier League 40 Over contest at Takashinga Cricket Club on Friday.
The home side’s success was built on discipline rather than spectacular moments, with every frontline bowler contributing to suffocate the Scorpions batting line up.
After Scorpions chose to bat first, Takashinga’s bowlers refused to offer easy scoring opportunities. The visitors stumbled to 37 for five during the Powerplay, a collapse that ultimately dictated the outcome of the match.
Daichi Nyandoro controlled the middle overs with figures of three for 27, while Shelton Mazvitorera produced an equally impressive three for 18.
Usher Garwe claimed the key early wickets of Takunda Madembo and Tafadzwa Mahachi before Tanatswa Chisvo cleaned up the tail to finish with two for 20.

Mudenda played with authority, finishing unbeaten on 53 from 40 deliveries, while Gopito’s unbeaten 24 from 20 balls ensured there were no further setbacks.
